Campus Safety
AISB focuses on school safety to ensure our campus is ready in the event of an incident or emergency. We work together with parents to ensure that our students are safe and are aware of their rights and responsibilities to themselves and to each other so that they can grow and learn free of fear in a safe, supportive environment.
At AISB, our school guards are on duty 24 hours. We have an alarm system connected to the local police station. Our school has 24-hour CCTV systems to ensure safety of the inside of the school building and surrounding areas.
In compliance with government guidance, we hold required drills at AISB throughout the school year. Some drills may be unannounced to provide an opportunity to review effectiveness and response of staff and students in a simulated event. Some drills may include oversight from law enforcement and/or fire services.
Our school safety and security audits are also carried out on a regular basis to identify current safety and security-related concerns and areas for improvement.
School Lunch
At AISB we aim to provide a healthy and nutritious lunch to our students. The school has a selection of Western, Korean, and Chinese food to support the international student body we represent.
Grade K-12 students who are on the lunch plan are offered a buffet-style lunch, consisting of Asian, Western, and vegetarian dishes together with side dishes, soup, and fresh fruit. All food is prepared fresh daily to the highest quality and standards. Lunch plan registrations are made online, and parents can pay easily through scanning our school’s QR code.
All students eat lunch in the cafeteria where there is adult supervision.
For the students who prefer to have home lunch, they are also welcome to bring their lunch to school.
Transportation
AISB provides a daily bus service at an additional fee to our families. We arrange different pick-up points according to our students’ needs and we do our best to offer a pick-up point close to your home. We have been using the same trusted bus company for more than 8 years to provide this service.
There is one bus monitor on the bus to make sure all students on the bus list are present and accounted for before leaving the school. Our bus monitor also makes sure all students are well-mannered and behaving well.
Currently four school bus lines have been provided for the students who live in Shunyi and Chaoyang district. We keep adjusting our bus line and bus schedule to provide good service for our students.
School Uniform
The school uniform is an important aspect of student life. Having students in uniform allows students to have a sense of belonging and to be unified in our school culture. Wearing the school uniform also communicates to students that they are coming to school to learn, and there is a difference between being at home and being at school. Students learn the responsibility of wearing and taking care of their uniform as a part of the school’s formal dress code.
Our school is an international community that strives to be excellent, responsible, and united, and to treat each member with honor and respect. As part of the school maintaining its school policy and ensuring students are attending school ready to learn in uniform to create a sense of school identity and remove the barriers of integrating into a new school community.
