Our AISB Parents

At AISB, we have always valued the strong partnership between parents and educators. This partnership is vital in providing the best possible educational experience for our students. With the formation of the PASS committee, we aim to strengthen this collaboration further and enhance the support system for our school.

PASS serves as a platform for parents and teachers to come together, exchange ideas, and work collectively to support our school's mission and objectives. This association enables us to:

Foster Communication: PASS provides a channel for open and effective communication between parents and teachers. We believe that active communication is key to helping us grow and improve.

Parent Involvement: We encourage parents to get involved in school activities and initiatives. PASS will offer opportunities for parents to volunteer, participate in events, and contribute to the school's growth.

Fundraising: PASS plays a role in fundraising efforts to support various school projects and activities. These funds will directly benefit our students by enhancing their educational and school experiences.

Community Building: We aim to create a sense of community among parents, teachers, and students. PASS helps organize events and gatherings that bring our school community closer together.

P.A.S.S.

PASS (Parents Assisting Students and Staff) is an organization of parents and staff who want to play an active role in supporting the school's mission and vision in a voluntary capacity. The PASS Committee, representing the major linguistic blocks of our school and are appointed by the school leadership. Its role is to encourage closer links between home and school. PASS will hold regular meetings as determined by committee members. All parents are automatically members of PASS and therefore welcome to all general committee meetings. PASS committees usually meet at least once a Quarter to help organize events.

PASS Vision

To promote communication and cooperation among parents, teachers, and students for the benefit of the student community and to foster a unified family atmosphere at AISB.

PASS Mission

To help AISB students to become responsible, holistic global citizens in their conduct, attitude, and character, and to empower staff to fulfil their calling.

Potential Activities

Communication

One of the primary roles of PASS is to build strong relationships among teachers, staff, students and the community at large. Relationships are built through communication. PASS typically can be involved in newsletters, events and meetings to promote communications.

Fundraising

PASS helps to raise much needed money by organizing and managing various fundraisers throughout the year. The money raised by the PASS is used to promote educational opportunities such as IT equipment, sports and other classroom supplies and materials.

PASS tends to raise money through events. However, there are other opportunities to raise funds through donations such as cake sales, sponsored activities, or business partnerships.

Organizing Social Events

Social events provide an environment to promote learning. For example, award ceremonies

celebrate academic and athletic achievements within an enjoyable social structure. Family book days and sports activities are all examples of educational social events that can be organized by PASS.

Six benefits to being part of PASS.

In busy lives, it is easy and forgivable to see volunteering for PASS as something that will take a lot of time. But this is not the case. You can give as much as you are able. The ethos of PASS is always collaboration and cooperation. Parents who do get involved never regret it and here’s why:

1. Friendships.

PASS is great fun. It offers a great way to meet other parents and build solid friendships with like-minded people.

2. You get a valuable ‘Inside Out’ perspective.

Being on PASS does offer an insight into school life not normally seen by parents. It makes your understanding of school dynamics and mechanics much easier to understand, which in turn will benefit your child.

3. It feels good.

Helping to organize a successful event that enhances the experience children have at school feels satisfying. You feel part of something bigger than you and you feel your time makes a difference. Because it does.

4. PASS enhances the school experience.

We all want our child’s school to be brilliant. The experiences that the children have while at school include what’s run by PASS.

5. Model the behavior you want to see.

There’s a lot of evidence that talks to the fact that when parents are engaged in school life, a child’s attainment is improved. Children love to see their parents in school and being involved shows that you think school is important.

6. Role in the community.

Being part of PASS roots you not just in the school community but the wider community too. It sends a message that you care and are invested in the area. Which in turn can open doors and offer opportunities for other community events and groups that otherwise you may not have come across.
