Student Support
Our student support department has a robust support system, featuring a school counselor, a guidance counselor, special needs and learning support.
School Counselor
The school counselor provides social, emotional and spiritual support to students, offering services such as Sand Play therapy, Lunch Club, Learning Assistant Program, and individual counseling to support personal growth. Additionally, the school counselor conducts weekly Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) classes for elementary and middle school students to support student relationships.
Guidance Counselor
Our guidance counselor plays a crucial role in supporting students throughout their academic journey and supports in the following ways:
· High school course selection and credit planning: The guidance counselor helps students plan their courses to meet graduation requirements, addressing credit deficits for timely graduation, and helps students consider the right courses for them.
· Student grades monitoring: Regular monitoring of grades identifies academic challenges or declines, allowing for timely intervention and support.
· Test registration and administration: Guidance in registering for and preparing for important assessments like AP exams, PSAT, and SAT.
· College application assistance: Providing guidance on college options, majors, financial aid, and overseeing the application process, including recommendation letters.
· Comprehensive support role: Collaborating with students, teachers, parents, and administrators to navigate academic and social challenges effectively.
Special Needs and Learning Support
AISB-Hope International has students with mild to moderate learning needs and limited severe learning needs. Our school has a Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) responsible for creating and maintaining Individual Education Plans (IEP) for students who are formally diagnosed with a specific learning difference. For students without IEPs, but showing learning support needs, a Student Profile is created to help teachers support individual students.
If you have a student with any learning needs, please speak to our admissions team to see how we can support your child. We understand that each child is different, and we spend time getting to know each new student and their needs before enrollment.
